TEACHING PHILOSOPHY:
Music is an integral part of every person's life. It is seen and reflected by society, and woven throughout humanity as a whole, it is a part of being alive. Learning to appreciate and create music can open up a whole new part of life, one seldom deeply explored, and one that gives insight to every person.
It is important to not only learn how to play music, but create it, and bring forth your own person through whatever you are playing.
MY BACKGROUND:
I started playing piano when I was 6 years old, and joined multiple different church and homeschooled choirs around that time, participating in as many different musical activities as I could. Throughout high school was when I began to grow exponentially in my musical skills, learning guitar, saxophone, bagpipes, and becoming familiar with many other instruments. I also participated in Covington Catholic Chamber Choir through my Junior and Senior year in high school. Through the Chamber Choir program I also was able to participate in KMEA All State Chorus for two years, and sing in New York with the MCP Youth Chorus. I attended Grove City College for my freshman year of college as a Music Education Major, with concentration in Voice and a Minor in Piano. During my time at Grove I was a part of many different ensembles; orchestra, marching band, concert band, and the Touring Choir. I now teach lessons and am working towards becoming a substitute teacher for private Christian/Catholic schools in the northern Kentucky area.
WHEN IāM NOT TEACHING:
When I am not teaching I am usually outside working for Screaming Raptor Ziplines, and continuing my education through online classes to work towards a teaching certification in Music Education.
