TEACHING PHILOSOPHY:

We learn best when we’re enjoying the experience. At any age, when we find the content fun, interesting, and engaging, we’re more likely to recall that information while simultaneously recalling how that learning experience made us feel emotionally. I teach in a way that addresses students’ learning styles while also creating a positive and engaging learning environment.

MY BACKGROUND:

I have a bachelor’s degree in music education from University of the Cumberlands and a master’s degree in educational leadership with an emphasis in English as a Second Language. I worked at Boone County Schools for five years before becoming a parent and have been a homeschool mom since 2019. I teach every school year both in my home and in the co-ops we’ve been a part of and find it highly rewarding.

WHEN I’M NOT TEACHING:

When I’m not in the classroom I am happily married with two energetic daughters. I’ve recently begun the “plant mom” life and love learning about gardening both indoors and out. I’m a big reader and have loved introducing my favorite childhood books to my kids.
