TEACHING PHILOSOPHY:

My teaching philosophy revolves around fostering a deep love for music while imparting a strong technical foundation. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player looking to refine your skills, I customize my lessons to match your goals and learning style. This usually involves learning pieces of a student’s favorite songs and matching them back to a bigger idea, from barre cords to mixolydian modes, I aim to create a musician who is actively abole to express their thoughts and feelings through their instrument.

MY BACKGROUND:

I was raised in a large musical family in central Kentucky but moved to the Midwest when I was 11. I started many bands and eventually learned guitar when I was 13, trying to replicate the different sounds I had heard in my life, learning everything from punk to funk. I play several different instruments - I like to say, “If I can find it I’ll learn to play it.” Through that idea, I often research different methods and genres to learn to play, but I usually consider myself an Alternative Rock guitarist. I am currently going to school for Education, and I will always say I love to help people express themselves in whatever way they can. Music has been one way for me to do that.

WHEN I’M NOT TEACHING:

I tend to be a patron of the many arts Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati has to offer. You can find me in museums, at concerts, and a lot of art exhibitions. Other than that, I’m typically working on school or painting, where I tend to express ideas I can’t explain in a musical sense.
