TEACHING PHILOSOPHY:

I believe that every student learns differently, therefore I teach differently to every student. I have played piano since childhood, and I have taught for over 10 years. I know how to keep students motivated and can tap into their creative energy for success on and off the piano bench. I keep lessons fun, educational, and inspirational and focus on the student’s unique personality.

Today’s piano students are much different from previous decades. In this fast-paced, technology driven world, I believe my teaching methods must reflect the ever-changing society. My students incorporate technology, utilize online lessons and video alongside learning multiple genres of music, from classical to pop.

MY BACKGROUND:

I graduated from Ball State University in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and, in 2003, I received my master’s degree in counseling. I counseled children for 7 years before deciding to stay home with my own children. I began teaching piano before staying at home and built a piano studio once I made this decision. I love teaching one on one and find it so rewarding!

WHEN I’M OFF THE BENCH:

I am happily married with two beautiful daughters. I enjoy playing keyboard and bass guitar for my church worship team. I love to dance and create anything and everything. My hobbies include reading, gardening, and swimming.
